The Office of the Commissioner of Police is fully aware that some police officers do not like the idea of the police crusade organised by the Community Policing Department.
Police Spokesperson Ema Mua said the crusade is the only strategy the Commissioner Esala Teleni and senior police officers hope will reduce crime in the country and police officers who are against the idea have every right to leave the force.
The crusade is coordinated by the New Methodist Souls to Jesus and funded through the Community policing budget.
Meanwhile, it will be a different ball game for a group of well known rugby players as they will preach their spiritual experiences in the Ruggers to Jesus Police Christian Crusade today at Sukuna Park.
Mua said the presence of well known rugby players such as Rupeni Caucau and Filimoni Delasau, will have a positive impact on the community, in terms of reducing the crime rate.
Mua said the Crusade will start with a march from the Suva Flea Market at 11am today.
