Minister for Health, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete

Oceania Hospital today opened their new in-house dialysis treatment facility which will treat both acute and chronic dialysis.

While launching the facility, Minister for Health, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says this is a huge milestone that will allow patients more options for access and treatment.

Dr Waqainabete adds that the Fijian government will continue to provide the $150 subsidy for dialysis to those who are earning less than $30,000 a year.

The new facility is part of Oceania Hospital’s $10 million investment plan to upgrade their facilities.

Oceania Hospital CEO, Murgessan Pillay says they are expecting to open their new birthing unit along with the new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Unit which is currently being constructed beside the hospital.
