ODPP appeals Kishore Kumar’s suspended sentence

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has filed an appeal against the suspended sentence given to 57-year-old former school teacher Kishore Kumar.

This relates to the case involving Agni Deo Singh, in which Kumar was sentenced to 12 months imp + risonment, suspended for three years, after being found guilty of unauthorised access to computer systems and causing harm through electronic communication.

The ODPP confirms to fijivillage News that the notice of appeal was filed last month, and they are now awaiting a date for the case to be mentioned.

Kumar was sentenced by Magistrate Seini Puamau on the 15th of April, 2025.
