All non-essential civil servants based in the North will work from home today due to flooding currently being experienced in most areas in the North.

National Disaster Management Office says this follows consultations between the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management and the Minister for Civil Service this morning.

NDMO says while the safety and well-being of every member of the public is paramount, this precautionary measure is being implemented to also ensure the safety of the people during such time.

They add that they will evaluate the situation again this afternoon together with the Ministry of Civil Service, and make an announcement accordingly.
