No room for players who can’t handle off-field pressure - Byrne

FIJI Water Flying Fijians Head Coach Mick Byrne says he does not want players who cannot handle off-field distractions especially when preparing for major campaigns like the November tour.

Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Byrne highlighted the importance of mental resilience as Fiji prepares to face England and France in back-to-back tests.

Byrne says he does not want players who get caught up in things off the field as it does not help them, and it does not help the team.

He says success on this tour will depend on two key areas, performance and mindset.

Byrne says they obviously want to win and play well against two of the world’s best sides on their home turf.

He adds that if the players deliver performances they are proud of and give themselves a chance to win, he will consider that a success.

Fiji will face England on 9th November at 5.40am at the Allianz Stadium in London.
