Dusty and bumpy roads from Wailotua to Korovou will no longer be an issue for thousands of people using the Kings Road.

59 year old Dr Viliame Sausauwai of Naveicovatu, Wainibuka can recall the difficult times when travelling by bus and carrier from his home village to Korovou on the gravel road.

Before many in Fiji refused to travel on this road due to its pathetic condition.

Sausauwai said taking patients and pregnant mothers to hospital were difficult when compared to the new tarsealed road which is five minute's drive to reach Korovou town.

He said most of the people in his village who work and attend tertiary institutions in Suva are now travelling daily.

Taking their produce to the main market in Suva is also much easier.

Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said the 8.5km road will open new opportunities for the people of Wainibuka in terms of education and business.

Commodore Bainimarama said other companies will also complete the sealing of Wailotua to Nayavu.
