New Snr Girls 100 metres record at Triple N Zone

Naomi Navuga of Adi Cakobau School has broken the Senior Girls 100 metres record in the Triple N Zone Athletics meet currently underway at the ANZ Stadium.

She ran a manual time of 12.72 seconds in the heat this morning.

The previous record was 13.02 seconds and it was set by Alaiwalu Rayawa of ACS in 2016.

Meanwhile, Vilimaina Naituku of Naitaisiri Secondary School has won her second gold medal in the Intermediate Girls 1,500 metres.

Naituku also won gold in the girls 3,000 metres open yesterday.

The first gold medals on day two of the competition were won by Waidina Secondary School and Rewa Secondary School.

Rosivela Matanimeke of Waidina Secondary School won gold in the Sub-Junior Boys 1,500 metres.

Ilisapeci Talanoa of Rewa Secondary School won gold in the Sub-Junior Girls 1,500 metres.
