New PRB flats put on hold

New PRB flats put on hold
Construction of the new Public Rental flats in Raiwai have been put on hold.

Housing Minister Colonel Samuela Saumatua confirms this saying that there is an industrial dispute.

Meanwhile, according to PRB General Manager Mesake Senibulu the contractors are China Railway First Group which was supposed to complete the project by the end of last year.

Senibulu said there are 118 one bedroom flats and 90 two bedroom flats which will be given out for rent for newly married couples and couples with children.

He said the $20 million loan from China EXIM Bank for the construction of Raiwai and Raiwaqa flats is anticipated to be paid through rental paid by families who will be occupying the flats.
