Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen

100 new jobs have been created as Fiji Airways prepares to welcome its new A330-300 aircraft next Tuesday.

Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen says this will be for pilots and cabin crew.

He says the new A330-300 aircraft will also have more seats.

The new A330-300 aircraft is currently on its way from Hong Kong with the President Jioji Konrote.

Meanwhile, Fiji Airways today announced a new route to North America which will start from June next year.

Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen says they had the option of increasing their flights to LA but instead they opted to fly direct to San Francisco.

Viljoen also says they have planned the flights to San Francisco well.

He says Fiji Airways will be flying to San Francisco in June, July, August and December from next year and January 2017 which they will be repeating that schedule.

Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the new route to San Francisco will attract more Fijians who want to fly to North America.
