Netherlands have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with a 2-0 victory against Norway this morning.

Late goals from Tottenham Hotspur's Steven Bergwijn and Barcelona's Memphis Depay ensured the Dutch claimed top spot in Group G.

It represents a success for manager Louis van Gaal, who led the Dutch to a third-place finish at the 2014 World Cup in his second spell as national boss.

In another match, defending champions, France beat Finland 2-0.

Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe scored a goal each for France.

France head to Qatar as defending champions having claimed the trophy in Russia in 2018 courtesy of a run that ended with a 4-2 win against Croatia in the final.

Meanwhile, Wales earned a precious 1-1 draw against Belgium to secure a home World Cup play-off semi-final.

Kevin de Bruyne's elegant 20-yard shot put the world's number one ranked side in front in the 12th minute.

Cardiff City Stadium erupted as Kieffer Moore equalised later in the first half for the hosts.
