Navua businessman appears in court for allegedly raping his employee

A Navua businessman who allegedly raped and indecently assaulted a 27-year-old employee appeared in the Suva High Court today.

Govind Sami who is in his 30s, has been released on strict bail conditions by High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo.

Sami allegedly raped the 27-year-old woman between July 2014 and October 2016.

He is charged with 2 counts of rape and 1 count of indecent assault.

Sami has been released on bail and the case has been adjourned to February 3rd next year.

A stop departure order has also been issued.
