Former All Blacks 7s and Highlanders winger, Jona Nareki is eager to make an explosive return to this year’s 2023 Shop n Save Super Rugby Pacific after recovering from an injury that kept him out of last year’s Super Rugby season.

The Fijian-born NZ 7s international suffered a knee injury in the early stage of last year’s National Provincial Championship and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

After being named in the starting lineup for the Highlanders to play Moana Pasifika in their final Super Rugby Pacific pre-season match, Nareki is confident of making an impressive return this year.

Nareki says all he is focused on now is doing his best for the Highlanders this season and getting back to playing his best rugby.

The Highlanders will take on Moana Pasifika in Queenstown, North Otago at 7pm tonight.
