FijiFirst provisional candidates announced today

Former Commissioner of Police and Corrections and former senior military officer, former Permanent Secretary and former High Commissioner, Ioane Naivalurua and former Army and Navy Commander, Viliame Naupoto are part of the 20 proposed candidates announced for the ruling FijiFirst Party for the next general elections.

FijiFirst General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the 20 proposed candidates are not existing members of parliament.

The other proposed candidates announced are commercial farmer, Meleti Raimuria; former Assistant Roko Tui of Lau and Namosi, Watisoni Raikadroka; former General Manager Operations of Fiji Pine, Asesela Cokanacagi; lawyer Ratu Josefa Niudamu; former senior lecturer and former Head of Human Resources at the Education Ministry, Hem Chand; dentist, Penioni Ravunawa; former Police Sergeant Penijamini Vukivou; former Police officer, Jacob Abraham; former Assistant Principal and Secretary of the Sanatan Dharm Rewa Branch, Shalen Kumar; former Land Transport Authority CEO, Naisa Tuinaceva; former senior officer of the Social Welfare Department, Iferemi Sowata; former teacher and Sugar Cane Growers councillor from Vanua Levu, Mohammed Rafiq; former teacher, Elaine Veena Chandra; social worker, Zarina Begum Reece; journalist, Aliki Bia; former teacher, Vereniki Sauturaga; President of the Fiji Disabled Persons Association and former teacher, Peniasi Rawaidranu and Executive Director of Smart Farms, Rinesh Sharma.

Meanwhile Sayed-Khaiyum says out of the 27 sitting FijiFirst Members of Parliament, 1 has not applied.
