Naimasi scores a hat-trick in Fijiana's 40-5 win over Tonga at the Oceania 7s

Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s nippy halfback Ana Maria Naimasi scored a hat-trick to help her side secure a 40-5 win over Tonga tonight.

This is the team's second win of the tournament.

The Fijiana scored two converted tries through Adi Vani Buleki and Reapi Uluinasau in the 1st and 5th minute respectively for a 14-0 lead.

Tonga came back and applied pressure to score their first try at the stroke of halftime with the conversion missing.

Fijiana led 14-5 at halftime.

Naimasi opened the scoring for Fiji in the second half with a converted try in the 8th minute to extend their lead to 21-5.

Buleki scored her second try in the 9th minute with a successful conversion before Naimasi scored another try in the 11th minute with a missed conversion to take the Fijiana's lead to 33-5.

Naimasi completed her hat-trick at the stroke of full time with a converted try for the win.

The Fijiana will now take on American Samoa in their last pool match at 4.18pm tomorrow.

The Women's cup semi final will kick off at 2.44pm tomorrow and the cup final will be at 6.24pm.
