People in Nadi market will now get access to free WiFi and benefit from the Walesi government Digitalization program, which allows them to access Walesi television programs with 2 televisions installed in the market.

Namaka Market now also has free Wifi with televisions connected to Walesi.

While launching the program at Nadi market Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says Nadi is the gateway to Fiji as the airport is there and it has very large market and active market.

He says tourists also come into Nadi and the economy is now bouncing back, they have a growth rate of in excess of 12% and currently have about 65% of the tourists that came before the pandemic.

He says they are getting a lot more people coming through on a daily basis.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds they will be providing the new digitalization program throughout all the markets in Fiji.

The Minister adds they have partnered with various telecommunication companies and are working together with them to provide access to WiFi.

He says the Nadi market WiFi is connected through Digicel.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds other companies will be providing the WiFi services to other markets but all of them are going through the Walesi program.

He urges the vendors to use the WiFi responsibly for information purposes as sometimes market vendors come in and want to know whether somebody can offer them a better price or whether they can get better opportunities.
