NGOs need to pay up - FNPF
The Fiji National Provident Fund has warned Non Governmental Organizations that they will monitor all NGOs to ensure that they comply with FNPF laws including the timely payments of their employees’ monthly contributions.

FNPF CEO Aisake Taito said the fund has received complaints from employees of some NGOs in regards to the nonpayment of their FNPF contributions.

Taito said they have also been informed that some NGOs do not provide their employees with pay slips thus denying these workers from verifying their FNPF deductions.

He said FNPF inspectors will visit all NGOs in the next few weeks to ascertain their workers’ FNPF status.

Chairperson for the Human Rights coalition Shamima Ali said they adhere to the laws of the land as it is a requirement from their donors.

Ali said the complaints usually come from other smaller NGOs.
