NFP insulted the nation for boycotting parliament opening session - PM

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says it was a great shame and an insult to the nation when the National Federation Party decided to boycott the opening of the new parliament session by President Jioji Konrote.

While speaking on the President's address in parliament today, Bainimarama says President Konrote emphasized the need for national unity and everyone has to play their part.

Bainimarama says the opening of the parliament session and the Constitution Day celebration are important occasions for the people of the country.

Bainimarama also raised the issue on how the NFP Leader, Biman Prasad is questioning the legitimacy of the constitution when he stood in the 2014 elections under the constitution.
