The National Council for Building a Better Fiji will welcome five new members at its meeting tomorrow and this will increase the total membership of the National Council from 36 to 41.
The new members are Ratu Josefa Basulu, who is chairman of the Lau Provincial Council, Vinod Naidu, president of the Andra Sangam of Fiji, Asela Naisara, vice-president of the National Council of Women, and Serua Provincial Council chairman Ratu Samuela Waqaniceva.
Total membership of the Council will increase to 46 and this has left room for the SDL Party, National Federation Party, Methodist Church and the United General Party in case there is a change of heart and they later join the council.
A representative of the Chinese Association of Fiji will attend council meetings and act as an observer.
The National Council will hold its third meeting tomorrow at the Nasova Police Academy. The NCBBF will meet members of the Elections Commission who will brief the council on the progress of the commission's work to date and its work programme for the conduct of elections by March 2009.
