The Ministry of Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation is looking at expanding the list of food items under the Government's Food Voucher Programme.
Acting Permanent Secretary Govind Sami confirmed they met with the two authorised supermarkets last week Wednesday, and were informed that there have been no major challenges faced by the two supermarkets and that quality services have been provided to the recipients.
Sami said they are also considering expanding the number of food items on the list.
Meanwhile, Sami also said they have encountered some teething problems at the beginning of the program.
Approximately 16,000 food vouchers have been distributed with another four thousand expected in the coming weeks as part of the Government's Food Voucher programme.
