The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office says people are taking shelter Saint Andrews Primary School, Saioni Methodist Church in Navuso and Korovuto Primary School in Nadi.

Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, says they are currently monitoring the situation.

People living in Tavua are also advised that the Tavua Primary School is open as an evacuation centre as rain continues tonight.
