Ministry to look into the matter

The Education Ministry will look into the details of the allegations leveled against the Principal of a prominent Boys High School in Suva, who has been suspended pending investigations, before deciding their next course of action.

Education Minister Filipe Bole said while he is yet to be informed of the matter, it is procedure that the Education Ministry get involved in investigations when school funds are involved and a teacher of principal has been suspended pending investigations.

The Principal, who has been suspended without pay is under investigation for the alleged misuse of funds.

The Vice Principal is now acting in his position.

Fijivillage has spoken to some officials linked to the school who confirm that the Principal was suspended without pay after they discovered that he was allegedly abusing the funds from the Trust Fund account.

The amount of money involved at this stage is not known.

The Principal remains suspended while the Chairman of the Board is currently out of the country and could not be reached for comment.
