Ministry of Environment leads clean up along Nukubuco sandbank and Suva coastline

In an effort to keep the environment clean, the Ministry of Environment took to the Nukubuco sandbank and the Suva coastline in the early hours of this morning to carry out a cleanup.

The Ministry of Environment says the Sunrise Clean-Up Program saw members of the public, Ministry officers along with the Pacific Ocean Litter Youth Project-POLYP meet at Sukuna Park to celebrate World Environment and World Oceans Day in Suva.

Meanwhile, on board, the Uto Ni Yalo, a group headed by Minister for Environment Mosese Bulitavu took part in a customary voyage to Nukubuco.

The Ministry says the purpose of the commemoration is to educate members of the public on the importance of maintaining the environment and recognizing the sustainability it gives.
