McKay does not let his physical impairment stop him from working towards his dream
Brian John McKay

The saying “excuses don’t produce results, but hard work does” is something that defines Brian John McKay, who is a second-year student at the Fiji National University, studying CISCO Certified Network Associate at the College of Engineering and Technical Vocational Education and Training.

Originally from Vagadaci village in Levuka, Ovalau, McKay exemplifies resilience and determination despite living with a physical impairment.

The 20-year-old refuses to be defined by his physical impairment and says his physical condition has never stopped him from chasing his dreams.

McKay says he believes that with hard work, he can achieve anything.

He says the support from his lecturers and peers at FNU has been incredible, motivating him to keep pushing forward.

Being the only child of his parents, his unwavering mindset highlights the importance of education regardless of physical challenges.
