The newly elected Labasa Mayor Councilor Shivlal Nagindas said he is thinking of resigning from the Fiji Labour Party as he does not have any confidence in the party and the leader.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Nagindas said he will not lose his Mayoral seat if he is terminated from the party.
Nagindas claimed that there is a split in the Labour councilors in Labasa.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Labour Party leader this morning confirmed that newly elected Labasa Mayor Councilor Shivlal Nagindas will lose his FLP membership.
Mahendra Chaudhry said Councilor Nagindas has breached the party constitution by contesting the Mayoral election last night, despite a clear directive by the party that another Fiji Labour Party councilor will contest the election.
Chaudhry said Councilor Nagindas will be sacked from the FLP.
