Man with alleged stolen govt cheques remanded in custody
A 25-year-old man allegedly using stolen government cheques has been remanded in custody at the Totogo Police station for further investigation.

Nalin Navneet Singh charged with theft appeared this morning before Suva Magistrate Chaitanya Latchman.

The case is in relation to Bio-security Authority cheques which were stolen on 9th July last year.

The Police Prosecutor objected to bail and informed the court that Singh has breached a suspended sentence handed to him in 2011 for burglary and theft.

His case will be called on Monday.

More than $17,000 worth of electrical items were recovered from his house following a police raid.

Meanwhile, the hunt continues for the remaining two men who were allegedly involved in the theft of the government cheques and bought $71,000 worth of items.

According to police the two still have some stolen cheques with them which belong to the Bio Security Authority of Fiji.
