Man stands trial for raping de-facto wife
A man is now standing trial for raping his de-facto wife in Nasinu.

The victim, who is a mother of two, revealed in the High Court today that the alleged incident occurred in October 2011.

During the examination before Justice Salesi Temo, the woman said that she has been in a de-facto relationship with the accused for 11 years and she had three children with him, however, one has passed away. 

She said on the day of the alleged incident, the man came home drunk and dragged her into the room before allegedly raping her. 

She said her children were at home when the alleged incident took place.

The woman also told the court that her de-facto husband was staying with another woman for about a month and after allegedly raping her, he went back to the other woman. 

She also told the court that during the alleged offence, she did not call for help as she did not want to scare her children.
