Lateef and Moore plead not guilty for drug possession
Zoe Maharaj Moore and Shazran Abdul Lateef.

Former Suva lawyer Shazran Abdul Lateef and Zoe Maharaj Moore have pleaded not guilty to the charges of being in possession of illicit drugs before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili this morning.

Both are charged with being in possession of 0.0068 grams of methamphetamine and 0.75 grams of marijuana in Raiwai on the 14th of August last year.

Meanwhile the court has denied Moore's application for bail.

The court was told that she has been in remand for the past 4 months.

Chief Magistrate Ratuvili said there is a high likelihood that Moore will commit an offence on bail as she has reoffended while on bail and has absconded bail as well.

The case has been adjourned to the 26th of August.
