The Police Force has today admitted that they have to fork out a substantial amount of money to pay for rentals which are used by officers for patrolling and attending to crime scenes.
Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said he authorized the use of rental cars because shortage of vehicles was a major concern.
According to Commodore Teleni the step by the Interim Government to purchase 159 vehicles from Asco Motors will see an end to the use of rental cars.
When questioned on how much the police force has already spent on rental cars Commodore Teleni refused to make a comment.
