SODELPA parliamentarian Atonio Lalabalavu says that the Lalabalavu legacy in parliament is not dynasty politics at work or about a traditional leadership but a recognition of political leadership and more than that an answer to the call of the people.

While speaking in Parliament, Lalabalavu said it is a privilege having getting elected and to serve with his father Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.

Atonio Lalabalavu says that this feat of achievement will for many years remain a source of inspiration.

He says the Lalabalavu legacy began with the late Senator Ratu Glanville Lalabalavu, father of Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu who was one of the pioneer senators in 1970.

Atonio Lalabalavu also welcomes the appointment of the new Minister for Health saying that for the first time after 2014, Fiji now has a Minister who is a medical practitioner.

He adds that he is hoping that the new Minister will take note of issues relating to his Ministry and take remedial action.
