Spain and South Africa put on dominating performances in their respective semi final matches to book a Men’s Cup Final showdown in the HSBC World Championship Final in Los Angeles this morning.

Spain thumped defending champions Argentina 29-5 in the first semi final, while South Africa thrashed NZ 31-5 in the second semi final.

In the Women’s Cup semi finals, Australia defeated Canada 33-7 in the first semi final to book a cup final match-up against NZ, who defeated the USA 34-7.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side finished 8th after losing to Great Britain 31-19 in the 7th place playoffs, their 4th consecutive loss in the tournament, and the first time ever for them to be winless in a tournament.

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s finished 5th after thrashing Great Britain 46-14 in the 5th place playoffs this morning.

The Women’s Cup Final will kick off at 12.05pm while the Men’s Cup Final will start at 12.41pm today.
