The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s won their second match, defeating France 26-22 at the HSBC SVNS World Championship in Los Angeles this morning.
Fiji scored two tries in the first half through Ilisapeci Delaiwau and Lavena Cavuru to lead France 12-5 at halftime.
Cavuru scored his second just seconds into the second half to extend Fiji’s lead to 19-5.
Alycia Christiaens gave the French side some hope after scoring back-to-back tries to put France in the lead.
Verenaisi Ditavutu broke the French celebration after crossing the try line in the dying seconds of the second half.
Meanwhile, Fijiana lost to Australia 26-5 in their first pool match.
The Fijiana’s last pool match is against the USA at 1.02pm today.
The women’s semi finals are at 7.40am tomorrow, with the cup final at 12.05pm tomorrow.
