Kings Road open to traffic
More rain is expected throughout today as an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the group.

The Nadi Weather Office said the forecast for the Fiji group is periods of heavy rain with few squally thunderstorms which is likely to cause flash flooding of low lying areas.

Meanwhile the Department of National Roads said heavy rain experienced overnight has forced the closure of some roads in the Naitasiri area.

Spokeswoman Sainiana Waqainabete said however in Naitasiri: the Navulokani road along with the crossings at Waisa and Nawaiwatu are closed to all traffic.

In Vunidawa, the Mata-i-nasau, Naboubuco, Nabaisavu crossing along with the Lutu/Vuisiga Roads and the Muaniweni Road and crossing and Waima crossings and the Nakorosule road is flooded and closed to traffic.

Meanwhile the Kings Road is now open to traffic.

Waqainabete has called on parents to exercise caution this morning especially when heading to work or school.
