Keni Dakuidreketi resigns as FRU CEO

Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer Keni Dakuidreketi has resigned from his post and his resignation is effective immediately.

The Fiji Rugby Union board will now sit on Saturday to discuss the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer.

FRU Chairman Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga said he accepted Dakuidreketi’s resignation on behalf of the board of the FRU and it is now time to move on.

Meanwhile the FRU is also expected to find out soon on whether the government will now release the 3 million dollars needed for the preparation and participation of the Fiji team in the Rugby World Cup in NZ.

Sports Minister, Filipe Bole had made it clear a few months ago that the FRU would only get the money from the government after changes are made to the board and management to ensure that the funds are properly utilised.
