Kadavu conducts first trials for Suva-based players

The Kadavu Rugby Union had its first trial for Suva-based players yesterday at the Suva Grammar School grounds where players, once selected will be part of the first rugby team to represent Kadavu.

The revival of the game in the province came to light earlier this month as the province was recognised as an affiliated member of the Fiji Rugby Union.

Kadavu Rugby Union had earlier elected Lynda Tabuya as their rugby union president, creating history as being the first female president of a rugby union in Fiji.

Administration officer Solo Finau says those selected to represent Kadavu will be stalwarts for the game’s revival in the province.

Kadavu will face Navosa in their first Vanua Cup game on the 24th of February at 3pm in Vatureba Park, Navosa.
