Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has criticized comments by Political Parties and NGOs that Consultation on the draft People's Charter extended till December this year, is a waste of tax dollars.
Sayed-Khaiyum said people should realize the initiative of the interim government.
Meanwhile, National Federation Party (NFP) General Secretary Pramod Rae said that there were a lot of concerns raised on the draft Charter at a Party meeting yesterday.
Rae also said that one of their resolutions is that there is no reason why there should be further delays for elections saying that the Electoral Commission should be ready to hold elections at any time.
Meanwhile, the Party had also resolved that they will be approaching the President for the immediate removal of the interim administration to allow a civilian interim government to be put in place so that elections could be held as earlier promised by March 2009.
