Interim PM To Renew Invitation

Interim PM To Renew Invitation
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the High Court judgement is an opportunity to renew his invitation to the ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and his supporters, to join the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and the proposed President's Dialogue Forum.

In a statement, Bainimarama said he is proposing to invite all the registered political parties this month to a meeting to discuss and agree on an agenda towards constitutional and sustainable democratic governance.

He said the judgement is one that all the law abiding people of Fiji, should respect because it demonstrates the independence, integrity, sensitivity and constructiveness of Fiji's courts.

Bainimarama also said this is a time when all should join hands and work together to help Fiji become a country based on tolerance, respect for the rule of law and a strong sense of national identity and unity.
