Immediate priority in Fiji should be vaccination - Professor Chand

Professor Satish Chand from the University of New South Wales

Professor Satish Chand from the University of New South Wales says the immediate priority in Fiji and the region should be vaccination which will be critical for any economic recovery.

Chand who is Professor of Finance says the good news is that nearly every Pacific Island has secured enough vaccination supply however the bad news is that not much progress is made into getting people vaccinated.

The former Ba resident says he is appealing to the religious leaders to encourage and push for people to get vaccinated adding that unless that is done, we have very little chance of getting out of this crisis.

He further says many people are going through an experience that they never even dreamt about.

Professor Chand also highlighted that countries like Fiji will benefit immensely if they were brought into the travel bubble with Australia and New Zealand after herd immunity.
