Team Fiji Women’s Rugby 7s coach Saiasi Fuli has made his intentions clear that he will stand by his team no matter the results and if they don’t deliver according to the plan that they have set out.

This follows the team’s 28-22 loss to Brazil this morning in the Paris Olympics’ Women’s rugby 7s 9th-12th placing playoffs.

The loss is the team’s 4th consecutive loss in the tournament.

Fuli says the team gave their best against Brazil but it is a tournament and the team will have to regroup, recover and come back tomorrow.

He says this is the first time he has experienced this situation where the team really hit its lowest in terms of performance and he feels for the players as they tried really hard.

He adds it is mentally tough for the players out on the field and very competitive.

The Fiji Women’s 7s team will take on South Africa at 3am tomorrow in the 11th - 12th place playoff.

Meanwhile, NZ will play the USA in the first semi final at 1.30am and Canada will take on Australia at 2am in the second semi final.

The gold medal final will kick off at 5.45am tomorrow.
