Families celebrate Father’s Day expressing appreciation and love

I am proud to achieve my father’s dream – Lata

It is a double celebration today for Ashika Arti Lata and her family, as they mark her graduation with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the South Pacific, alongside Father’s Day.

Lata says this achievement is especially her father’s dream, and she is proud to be fulfilling it by graduating with two degrees.

She says that as she walked up to collect her certificates, she felt the weight of every challenge she had overcome.

She adds that with the support of her parents, family, and husband, she was able to continue her studies.

Meanwhile, it is that special time of the year again when families pause to say “Thank You” to their fathers for all that they have done.

Father’s Day is being celebrated across Fiji today, with children, families, and communities expressing appreciation for the love and sacrifices of fathers.

For many, the day is an opportunity to gather for a special meal, share gifts, or simply spend quality time with their dads.

For those who have lost their fathers, the occasion holds a more reflective meaning, as they honour the lessons and memories left behind.

From the fijivillage News team, we wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day.
