Heavy rain alert remains in force

A heavy rain alert remains in force for western half of Viti Levu, Yasawa and the Mamanuca group.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is expected to affect the group till tomorrow.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Periods of rain, heavy at times and a few squally thunderstorms over the western half of Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca groups.

We will have occasional rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms in other areas.

National Fire Authority CEO, John O’Connor said they have not received any reports of flooding.

However they are on standby from last night.
