Health Ministry organizing National Clean Up Campaign

The Health Ministry is now working with municipal councils and other stakeholders to organize a National Clean Up Campaign on four successive Saturdays starting from next week.

This follows the release of the latest statistics on Dengue Fever, Zika Virus, Typhoid and Leptospirosis.

National Advisor on Communicable Diseases, Doctor Mike Kama says 262 Dengue cases have been reported this year.

50% of the cases are from the Northern Division.

104 cases of Typhoid have been recorded.

40% of the cases have been recorded in the Central Division, 40% in the West and 20% in the North.

Doctor Kama also confirms that they have recorded 13 cases of Zika and 68 cases of Leptospirosis.

People are advised to clean up their surroundings and destroy all mosquito breeding places.
