The Health Ministry has expressed interest to get specialists and promote local capacity building for neurosurgeons, nephrologist, cardiologists, pathologists, radiologists and diabetes specialists through the extension of a agreement with Guangdong Province in China.
Minister for Health Rosy Akbar says they have expressed interest to extend the Memorandum of Understanding with the Guangdong province which was initially signed in 2015.
In a meeting with Akbar, China's ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo says through a bilateral agreement, there is discussions for local nurses to potentially receive skills training and competency development.
