The interim Health Minister said breaking down of some health equipment and the shortage of doctors and nurses are major causes why people are not receiving satisfactory services.
Dr. Jiko Luveni is hopeful that her ministry will be allocated more funds in 2009 National Budget so that more improvements are made in the Health Sector.
Meanwhile, having being built in 1884, Fiji's only psychiatric hospital is need of new facilities to be able to provide the best treatment for Fiji.
Acting Medical Superintendant at the Saint Giles Hospital Doctor Odille Chang, said they are working closely with the Ministry of Health to try and find a new site to move to, as well as trying to build better facilities.
Dr Chang said it's very hard to provide treatment when the facilities are not as good as it should be.
The interim government's third National Budget is expected to be announced early next month.
