Going through hardships is part and parcel of one’s journey to fulfill their dream.

This was the sentiment of Fiji Airway’s Men’s National 7s newcomer, Josese Batirerega.

Batirerega says it was not an easy journey getting into the national squad, but he says nothing comes easy in life and his sacrifices have finally paid off.

He adds he is grateful for the opportunity to be able to represent his country in the upcoming Hamilton and Sydney 7s and also thanked all those who helped him in his journey especially to Jerry Tuwai for all the words of encouragements.

Batirerega played for Dominion Brothers before switching to Police Rugby at the Coral Coast 7s this year and will make his debut at the Hamilton 7s this weekend.

The Hamilton 7s will kick-off this Saturday with Fiji taking on France at 8.32am in their first pool match, they will then take on Kenya at 12.00pm on Saturday, before playing Samoa in their final pool match at 3.06pm Saturday.

The cup quarter finals will start at 9.58am Sunday, the semi finals will begin at 1.48pm Sunday, and the final will be played at 6.56pm Sunday.
