The Fiji Airways men’s national 7s team’s Hamilton 7s campaign has come to an end with a 26-19 loss to Australia in the 5th place semi final.

Australia started the game strongly scoring two tries with one successful conversion for a 12-0 lead.

Iowane Teba managed to grab a try at the half time hooter with a successful conversion to trail 12-7 at half time.

Australia opened the scoring in the second half with two converted tries to Henry Hutchison and Dietrich Roach to extend their lead to 26-7.

Manueli Maisamoa and Jerry Matana managed to score a try each in the dying minutes of the game, one of which was converted.

Fiji had a chance to score another try after the full time hooter sounded to send the game into extra time, however were penalised for an infringement that gave Australia a relief as they kicked the ball into touch for the win.
