Hairdresser in custody after seizure of meth following a raid at his property

A 45-year-old hairdresser of Nausori is in police custody following a raid at his property which resulted in the seizure of white crystals confirmed to be methamphetamine.

He will appear in the Nausori Magistrates Court today.

Police say the search conducted by the Eastern Division team and K9 Unit over the weekend also resulted in the discovery of sachets of dried leaves confirmed to be marijuana.

The hairdresser has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

Police has acknowledged the support towards their efforts on the war on drugs as the arrest was a result of a tip received about the man’s alleged illegal activities.

Meanwhile, in Savusavu, a 17-year-old farmer will appear in court today following the discovery of bullets of dried leaves which have tested positive for marijuana.

He was arrested in Savusavu Town last Friday.
