Govt to open Public Service Broadcasting grant to other media outlets for fair competition

To ensure fairness and a level playing field in the media industry, the Cabinet has agreed to open up Public Service Broadcasting grant to other media organisations other than the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says the People’s Coalition Government intends to engage other service providers ensure a wider reach on issues of public interest and fair competition in the media industry.

Rabuka says in the past, the Government had exclusively engaged Fijian Broadcasting Corporation to provide public service broadcasting through radio and TV.
