Govt to decide on PER extension
The Police and Military are carrying out on the ground assessments before a decision is made on whether the Public Emergency Regulation (PER) will be extended beyond June 10th.

Minister for National Security and Defence Ratu Epeli Ganilau said a decision on whether the Emergency Regulation will remain in place is expected by early next week.

Ratu Epeli also confirmed that the government will also decide by next week whether the censorship of media outlets will continue. However he said from his point of view the media organizations have been cooperative with the government.
