Government is not trying to destroy all the mangroves around Fiji - Koya
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya says it is no use making sweeping statements and alarming the public by saying the government is trying to destroy all the mangroves around Fiji as that is not being done.

Koya had this to say when SODELPA MP Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu raised in parliament that what the Minister was saying about conserving mangroves was conflicting, giving the example of developments being done on Nawi Island in Savusavu.

Koya then explained the work being done on Nawi Island and said that the lease has been given with conditions after the Environmental Impact Assessment.
