More than 100 ginger farmers are being encouraged to transition from subsistence farming to sustainable, commercial farming following the first Fiji Ginger Growers Association Annual General Meeting.

Association CEO, Jiu Daunivalu says they are able to access financial institutions and gain information and up-skilling on market development and value chains through workshops and training sessions facilitated by the Fiji Crop & Livestock Council.

She says it is pleasing to see associations like theirs registered with FCLC; achieving their necessary legal requirements as well as working towards the registration of all of their members.

She also adds it was gratifying to see women and young farmers amongst the attendees.
